Even more amazing then actually moving the Mali is I did work on it for the 1st time in almost 2 years. Last night I removed the old shattered windshield and cleaned up the interior. Also test fit the Camaro seats which fit perfectly so its nice to have a win.
First I started by removing all the window trim, the most annoying part was the PO had siliconed it in place when the window had previously leaked. I need to look up how to correctly remove the trim as my method kept adding more cracks to the windshield since I still have to do the rear.
So it a little dented
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
There was so much black glue I went through 1/2 a box of gloves I swear, it was so sticky and awful. It didn’t help that there were shards of glass everywhere which made the job even more sucky.
Windshield removed.
I pulled out the original rubber gasket that was shoved in there. I have a few spots to clean up and rust repair on the window channel which is not to bad. I will paint the dashboard while I have the windshield out. I need to research how the windshield goes back in since I will be putting them back.
And a pick of my dirty engine for the fun of it. Thankfully it does run still, I juts need to change the oil re-torque the bolts and get a better radiator (as well as clean up the serpentine belt system I will be using). Next up is strip the front end down and pull the body off the frame to finish all the underside welding and chassis work. Hopefully this weekend if I can get the crane and people to help.

These guys make great stuff at pretty solid pricing, it’s where I got my Montego Radiator replacement:

I hate how pricey Radiators are, I had been looking at a Champion 3Row.

My dad is actually a distributor for these guys down in South Carolina so I got a solid discount on a 4 row for the Montego. I didn’t go aluminum but went with more cores instead.
I’d love to say it worked out great but I have a completely unrelated cooling system problem and it really hasn’t driven with the radiator.
My dad has one of this companies radiators in his 64 Dodge 330 Police Car which was overheating, these guys solved his heat issues.

I’ll look into it, I really need HD cooling for the plans on the car.

Yeah part of it is I don’t know what your plans are, what are you doing under the hood?

Its a rebuilt 350 slightly warmed over, but I will be adding AC and a trans cooler. I also need electric fans.

I mean a slightly hopped up 350 probably doesn’t really need all THAT MUCH upgrade in the cooling department, but I suppose better safe than sorry. I’ve got a barely modified 302 that I crammed a 4 core in front of but I’m still on a mechanical fan.
(btw, nice air cleaner, we have the same one)

Got it free with the Carb. I have been debating painting it since the paint chips so easily. Yeah I just hate buying things more than once when they don’t work. This radiator was cheap at least but wont cool it enough (even though it says it would).

It’s pretty crazy thin, is it a 1row or 2 row?
And if you’re going electric fans I recommend a bigger radiator and fans on the front of it.

I think its a 1 Row, its a modern design it was like 60 bucks from the local radiator shop, they said it was a direct fit (it wasn’t) but it did let us test fire the motor. I still only have 30 min of run time on the motor, its just broken in.
I was looking to replace it with http://www.ss396.com/chevelle/CCS-C…
and http://www.ss396.com/chevelle/CCS-F…
Plus the 2 12" fans. I figure that should be enough to pull through the Rad and AC condenser.

Yeah and a lot of the Chevelle guys run them with no issue.

I would imagine a 3 row aluminum would do everything you want and more.
It’s a solid choice.

Make sure you get a proper shroud for your radiator fan, it massively improves cooling performance at low speeds

I’m going to get a Radiator / Dual 12" electric fan w/ shroud combo.

That ought to do it! Make sure get all the air out of the system, that can be a bit of a pain and cause lots of grief too.
